February 2012

New Years seems to have more dances than any other Holiday. The reason I say that is you can have your Valentines Dance the whole month of February and you can’t do that with a New Years dance. Every Club and Council wants to have their big Dance on New Years Eve. Many of those dances are quite well attended.

Rainier Council decided to have their New Years dance on Australian time and held it on Friday December 30 which would be December 31st in Australia. I guess what I’m trying to say, they thought out of the box and had a very successful dance.. Sometimes we all have to think “OUT OF THE BOX”

In my January message I happened to say “CHECK YOUR EXPIRATION DATE.” I received quite a few calls on that, because it could be taken a couple of ways. What I wanted you to do, was to check the Expiration date on the Mailing Label on the back of the last Footnotes you received. Some of you told me you really didn’t know when you might expire. I subscribe to quite a few magazines and they keep asking me to renew several times a year, starting right after I subscribe. We aren’t that big of a publication and we depend on YOU to keep looking when your subscription ends.

I’m still trying to get a handle on all subscriptions and it’s coming together quite well. If you do not receive you Footnotes by the 10th of each month, then either call me 253-445-4691 or e-mail me footnotes_wa@yahoo.com . Some of your subscriptions have been expired for over a year and you are just realizing you haven’t received one in awhile. We are sending out postcards stating that your subscription has expired and would like to know if you wish to restart it? Please let us know one way or the other. It doesn’t take much. The price might be going up, so re-subscribe now at $15.00 per year or two years for only $30 and save some money.
