IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR!
May 1st is “Our Big Day” for many of the teen dancers around the Pacific Northwest. It’s a long day, but in the end we get a chance to see how all of our hard work paid off. Our competition day is a day to behold. To see these young people show off their dancing ability can be simply amazing. I’m proud to be a part of it. Remember if you want to see these young people dance everyone is welcome to join us at Langley Secondary School. The address is: Langley Secondary School, 21405 - 56th Avenue, Langley, BC Canada. All you need is a badge to get in, so if you’ve already bought one you can get in on competition day. If you haven’t bought a badge yet you can buy one right there at the school. It should cost no more than 3 dollars. These badges get you in the festival all day on Saturday. You can come and go as you please and the badge will get you back in every time.
If you can’t make it up to Canada many of the local teen clubs have their dress rehearsals coming up in the last couple of weeks of April. If you’re interested in going contact with a local youth club and find out when they are having their rehearsal and if the public is welcome. Most of the time anyone is welcome to come and see.
Finally, a thank you to all of the youth who applied for the youth scholarship this year. The deadline has officially passed and I was glad to receive entries. If you applied for the scholarship, I encourage you to come to the State Festival this June in Ellensburg. It could make for a very exciting day for one of the young people who entered.
As always I hope to see you on the dance floor somewhere.
